OSTACID ® 500 Tablet: Each film-coated tablet contains Calcium Carbonate BP equivalent to 500 mg elemental calcium.
Raised calcium requirement e.g. during pregnancy and lactation, and in children and adolescents at times of rapid growth, inadequate intake of calcium in the diet due to malnutrition, prevention and treatment of osteoporosis, disorder of osteogenesis and tooth formation (in addition to specific treatment), latent tetany. Calcium Carbonate effectively neutralizes esophageal acidity and relieves symptoms following a meal.
One tablet daily or as directed by the physician. The tablet must be swallowed. When used as antacid the recommended doses for adults are 540-2000 mg Calcium Carbonate per 24-hour, doses for children being half of those for adults.
